About Our Oncology Service
Medical Oncology is an established and highly respected specialty service at IndyVet. Due to continued growth and increasing demand, we are excited to welcome an additional Medical Oncologist to our team.
You will join a thriving service with an established referral base, collaborative colleagues, and the resources needed to provide exceptional patient care from day one. Our Oncology service focuses on compassionate, patient-centered cancer care with an emphasis on quality of life. We work closely with referring veterinarians and pet families to develop individualized treatment plans for every patient.
Our oncology team provides a wide range of diagnostic and treatment options, including comprehensive cancer diagnostics, advanced imaging, histopathology and molecular diagnostics, chemotherapy, targeted therapies, immunotherapy, and palliative and supportive care. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate closely with our Internal Medicine and Surgery teams on multidisciplinary cases.

In your day to day, you will:
• Manage oncology cases in close collaboration with Internal Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Surgery, and Critical Care
• Oversee chemotherapy protocols and ensure compliance with USP 800 safety standards
• Support daily client communication, including treatment updates, refills, and question triage
• Mentor chemo trained technicians, assistants, and support staff
• Pursue growth opportunities such as ultrasound training, ECT training, or clinical trial coordination
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations
• Contribute to a positive, team focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning
What You Bring
• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Indiana veterinary licensure
• Board Certification in Veterinary Medical Oncology or residency training in Veterinary Medical Oncology
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills with experience managing complex oncology cases
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative and client centered approach
• A commitment to compassionate, patient focused cancer care and quality of life
• A passion for mentorship, continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine
• An interest in contributing to the continued growth of an established Oncology service
• A desire to build lasting relationships with clients, patients, and referring veterinarians
