Job DescriptionThe Department of Medicine of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC), located in Baltimore, MD, are recruiting for a mid- to senior-level academically oriented hematologist/oncologist for a clinical position with a focus in myeloma, a record of original clinical research, and exceptional clinical and educational skills.
The essential functions of the position include inpatient/outpatient consultations and longitudinal patient care Unique opportunities exist for collaborations between clinical and research programs, clinical trials research, cancer chemoprevention, clinical and basic pharmacology, novel cell therapy constructs, and participation in a broad range of teaching initiatives with medical students, house staff, and fellows. Active participation in clinical research is expected.
Expected rank for this position is Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank and tenure status will be dependent on selected candidate's qualifications.
The expected salary range for Assistant Professors is $190,260 (min) and $401,205 (max). The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the departmental faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental variable compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the hiring department.
The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.

Qualifications
Candidates with a strong interest in and/or published literature relating to conducting clinical/translational research are preferred. Interaction with basic and translational scientists is strongly encouraged. Furthermore, candidates must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree and must be board certified or board-eligible by the ABIM in Internal Medicine and hematology and/or medical oncology and be eligible for a medical license in Maryland.
