Position Overview
The Section of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine is seeking a full-time General Consultative Cardiologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a nationally recognized academic cardiology program dedicated to excellence in patient care, medical education, and clinical research.
The successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic clinical practice while participating in the teaching and mentoring of medical students, residents, advanced practice providers and fellows within a collaborative academic environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive cardiovascular care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Participate in consultative cardiology services and on-call rotations.
- Contribute to subspecialty services (e.g., advanced heart failure, imaging, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology—based on expertise)
- Teach and mentor trainees, including medical students, residents, advanced practice providers and fellows.
- Engage in scholarly activity appropriate to career track (clinical research, clinical trials, quality improvement, medical education innovation, or translational collaboration).
- Participate in institutional and departmental career development opportunities.
Requirements
Successful candidates must be fellowship-trained and either Board Certified or Board Eligible in cardiovascular medicine. Candidates must meet criteria for appointment as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Medicine in the Academic Clinician (AC) or Clinician Educator Scholar Track (CES). Candidates must have an active unrestricted medical license in Connecticut or be eligible for licensure.
