At the Oracle Innovation Studios we co-create and co-innovate with customers to solve hard problems and develop innovative solutions based on Oracle products, cutting edge technology and industry partnerships.
What We're Looking For
The Oracle Security Innovation Studio is looking for a Security Architect who will be responsible for designing, building and implementing cutting edge, enterprise security solutions for Oracle customers.
As a strategic technical security leader, you will drive security architecture and design decisions for building new security solutions, integrating Oracle products with 3rd party security technologies and driving innovative use of AI and automation to secure customer environments and products. This role will serve as a senior technical security resource for customer engagements, will mentor junior personnel and will interface with other technical resources across Oracle. You will be expected to bring a strong mix of hands-on delivery expertise and architectural leadership.
Responsibilities
How You'll Make An Impact
- You have deep experience in Oracle security features and functionality across Oracle's entire product portfolio including OCI, Database, Identity, SaaS
- You have extensive experience capturing customer requirements and turning them into a reality. You can see the big picture, but also like getting hands on to build and implement solutions or solve challenges.
- Use your deep technical experience to guide discussions, designs and planning processes from junior engineers to senior executives.
- Your technical expertise ranges from a "mile deep" to a "mile wide" depending on what the situation requires.
- Use your strong leadership and people skills to represent the security studio across multiple cross-functional teams delivery security, AI, cloud and other Oracle solutions.
- You can leverage your experience with key security technologies related to AI, identity & access control, logging, antivirus protection, vulnerability management, image & service hardening, encryption, product and application security, cloud, SaaS, governance, assurance, etc. to create or mature existing products, features and capabilities within the Oracle product suite.
- You hold one or more architecture level certifications (cloud or otherwise) for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and preferably one or more security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, etc.
- Possess a strong drive to use security to enable the business and deliver a positive experience to customers and other groups across Oracle. Act as a security evangelist and champion.
- Possess deep experience applying industry standard security compliance frameworks such as CIS, NIST, PCI-DSS, SOC, HIPAA, etc. that can be used to develop security assessments for customer environments.
- Mentor teams on solution design, best practices, and delivery excellence for security projects.
- Guide enterprise-wide security architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with data strategy, DevOps, Cloud and AI best practices.
- Engage with C-suite stakeholders to define security priorities, value propositions, and roadmaps.
- Lead solution estimation, technical governance, and program oversight.
- Contribute to GTM initiatives, including customer-facing demos and proposal development.
- Publish internal whitepapers, present at leadership forums, and help grow the security practice through coaching and community engagement.
- Keep up to date with existing and emerging security technologies that can be adopted at Oracle.
Core Competencies & Technical Expertise
- Security architecture and strategy
- Software development (Python, Java, Go) with the ability to rapidly prototype solutions
- Multi-cloud and distributed architectures (OCI experience is required, experience with other cloud providers such as AWS, GCP and Azure is desirable)
- Integration and security engineering strategy
- Stakeholder and customer engagement (including executive leadership interaction)
- Program oversight and governance
- Solution design, proposals and estimates
Qualifications & Experience
- 12-15 years of total experience
- Demonstrated experience leading end to end security design, development and deployments.
- Deep understanding of security controls and design across various domains such as network, compute, data, cloud, application, etc.
- Deep understanding of security and governance for AI including Agentic AI, MCP, LLMs, data security, access governance, etc.
- Ability to write code in Python, Java and/or Go to rapidly develop solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Industry Vertical: Proficiency in at least one industry vertical such as tech, government, energy, healthcare, finance, etc. is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience contributing to security community initiatives, publishing whitepapers, or speaking at tech events.
- Familiarity with Oracle's broader product ecosystem including the security features and functionality of Oracle products is a plus.
