The Chief Architect must be highly collaborative, technically sharp, and capable of influencing stakeholders across clinical, operational, and executive domains. This role requires a self-driven leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on technical depth and the ability to build alignment across a complex organization. *Key Responsibilities * *Enterprise Architecture Leadership * * Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture framework (e.g., TOGAF or equivalent hybrid model). * Establish architecture principles aligned to business strategy and the Zero Outage IT objective. * Lead architecture governance through formal Architecture Review Boards (ARBs). * Define current-state and target-state technology roadmaps across domains. *Technology Standards & Governance* * Define, publish, and govern enterprise technology standards (compute, network, cloud, security, endpoint, collaboration, etc.). * Establish lifecycle management standards for infrastructure and platforms. * Implement compliance review processes to ensure adherence to approved standards. * Maintain a centralized architecture repository and standards library. *Zero Outage & Resiliency Architecture * * Embed high-availability, redundancy, and failover design patterns into all technology standards. * Define availability tiers, RTO/RPO standards, and resiliency requirements. * Partner with operations to incorporate lessons learned from incidents into architectural improvements. * Identify and eliminate single points of failure across infrastructure and applications. *Managed Service Provider (MSP) Governance * * Serve as the primary architecture authority working with the MSP. * Ensure MSP solutions align with enterprise architecture standards. * Participate in solution design reviews, contract scope validation, and performance governance. * Establish architecture compliance metrics and reporting mechanisms. *Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence* * Partner with Clinical/Business, Application, Cloud, Infrastructure, Security, and Endpoint architects. * Build strong relationships with IT operations, cybersecurity, and executive leadership. * Drive consensus on architectural decisions in a matrixed environment. * Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. *Innovation & Modernization * * Evaluate emerging technologies and modernization opportunities. * Drive adoption of cloud, automation, containerization, AI-enabled tools, and infrastructure-as-code where appropriate. * Balance innovation with operational stability and risk management. *Preferred Experience * * 10+ years in IT infrastructure, enterprise architecture, or technology strategy roles. * 5+ years in a leadership or enterprise-wide architecture capacity. * Experience implementing or governing architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, FEAF, or similar). * Demonstrated experience defining and enforcing enterprise technology standards. * Experience working with Managed Service Providers in a governance or oversight capacity. * Proven track record of influencing cross-functional stakeholders. *Technical Expertise * * Deep understanding of: * Hybrid cloud architecture (Azure, AWS, GCP) * Virtualization and compute platforms * Enterprise networking (SD-WAN, ACI, firewalls, load balancers) * Identity and access management * Backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity * Modern collaboration platforms (M365, Teams) * Familiarity with ITSM, DevOps, automation, and infrastructure-as-code concepts. * Strong understanding of high-availability and resilient architecture design patterns. * Agile delivery experience. *Leadership & Behavioral Competencies * * Highly self-motivated and proactive. * Strong executive presence and communication skills. * Ability to influence without direct authority. * Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills. * Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, transformation-oriented environment. *Key Success Metrics * * Adoption and compliance rate of enterprise technology standards. * Reduction in unplanned outages and severity incidents. * Elimination of single points of failure in critical systems. * Improved MSP alignment to architecture governance. * Measurable improvement in infrastructure maturity and resiliency. *Preferred Certifications * * TOGAF (or equivalent EA certification) * Cloud certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect) * ITIL * CISSP (preferred but not required) *Minimum Qualifications* * Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification * 7 Years of Experience
