Description
This tenure-track faculty position will establish and maintain a competitive translational and/or clinical research program capable of securing competitive funding. While housed in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences, this position will collaborate on research endeavors with others across the University, other Idaho higher education institutions as well as external affiliate healthcare systems. The faculty will have teaching responsibilities in the department and college in line with relevant expertise (i.e., research design, literature evaluation, etc.) as well as service assignments to the department, college, and/or university in line with typical faculty expectations. New hires may negotiate the timeline for tenure application, start-up package, rank and percent effort dedicated to non-scholarship roles including continued clinical practice, if relevant.

Key Responsibilities
Scholarship 60%
- Direct or co-direct biomedical research projects (e.g., clinical, translational or implementation science; community engaged research; health services research)
- Prepare, submit, and lead competitive grant funding
- Develop and enhance research relationships with community partners to improve health outcomes in Idaho.
Teaching 25 - 30%
- Teaching allocation and responsibilities will be assigned in alignment with expertise and interest but may include delivering didactic lectures in the PharmD and other health professions programs in the College or Kasiska Division of Health Sciences.
Service 10-15%
- Service on relevant department, college or university committees
- External professional service
- Provision of research mentorship to other faculty members
Other duties as assigned by the chair.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Training
- Applicants must hold a professional doctoral degree (MD, DO, PharmD, DNP, DrPH, or similar) or a PhD in a relevant discipline such as public health, health informatics, health services, implementation science, health sciences, biostatistics, or a closely related field. Doctoral degrees in other fields will be considered if accompanied by relevant research training (e.g., fellowship) or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of successful funding and publication of scholarly activity.
Experience
- Three or more (3+) years in research and project management, data management, primary data collection and data analysis and dissemination with public health, biomedical or healthcare applications.
- Strong quantitative or mixed methods data analytic skills demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications and national conference presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of leadership and collaboration in academic and/or clinical settings.
- Experience in database oriented research or data science skills.
- Professional and graduate teaching experience.
- Senior or key personnel on competitive, federal or non-federal external awards (e.g., NIH, NSF, PCORI, CDC, HRSA, RWJF) OR
- PI on a career development award (e.g., K, F, R or T)
